Rebuild went great. I moved +2000 miles for work so the need became to get the bike road worthy asap. I swapped in a used 07 AW motor and have been puttering around on that for a while now. It’s given me time to amass parts including some goodies like a falicon full circle billet crank 3/8” stroke with pistons and rods, jones cams, built heads, slow steady progress towards rebuilding the original motor. It’s going to take far longer to build the bike I want but for the mean time I can motor around town on the AW motor.

Earlier this year got my D&D welded with exhaust bungs and swapped the factory ECM for a Daytona Twin Tec VRFI4. Didn’t realize how bad my tune with the AW motor was until a I Dyno’ed it and had a slight panic attack. Now a days it's running great and a lot more fun.

Had a recent set back in the last month with a 14yo delinquent who decided to sit on the bike, couldn’t handle the weight and dropped it into a pole. Kid’s mom is a great person and getting the airbox replaced along with one other cosmetic piece that was damaged, which was the only damage sustained thanks to that pole. No damage to the power coated frame, id of lost my mind if that happened.

Other then driving around with a big ass dent in the air box the bike is still a work in progress.

Another great reason not to have kids.

Nice build, sorry to hear the scumbag dealer wouldn't nut up. That's why I buy EVERYTHING with a credit card and or pursue such jerks through my state's office of consumer affairs, especially on a business.

Dimebag, looks like things were going well......until Yikes! Shite happens!
Hey any idea where that custom trunk like unit is from that replaced the passenger seat on your bike?
Hope you were able to get the bike fixed up again and continue on with the engine build!
keep the StreetRod alive!
Cheers

It's a Corbin Smuggler trunk. < unobtanium :banghead:

Yea figured that was probably the "case". pardon the pun.:)

ouch almost 500 for an air cleaner ?
I can make one for less in my shop and probably will.
I dont see why MC parts are always on the high end of the dollar.

A Hooligan cleaner deserves a transparent airbox cover..
Wonder why nobody started a small scale production?
Showing off plenums too... :D

Agreed, the motohooligan airbox is a well designed piece. I am not at all disappointed with it.

I originally got it because during my diagnostics as i rationalized that my motor was running properly just spitting up slightly more oil than other bikes. I Hadn't done the compression test yet and it was running just fine. The hooligan air cleaner is designed such that teh valve cover vent hoses connect to a collection tube that positions the vent relief directly over the velocity stacks. i though that would help mitigate my problem by dumping excess oil particulates directly into the oncoming flow into the velocity stack thus burning up the oil.

With the new motor and everything functioning as intended, the bike has quite an enjoyable sound.

IF you can afford it, id buy it. Or make your own

So a quick little update and a treat of whats to come.

So 2018 was a decent year, head and transmission were sent out for the Fitzgerald treatment. Race ready heads and a fully built transmission, not just the straight cut 2nd gear but a full build reputed to handle 300hp.

definitely needed to accommodate this.

No too many pictures of this gorgeous machined art as its will get buried deep in the motor.

This year i plan to punch the block, add pistons and rods (of bigger diameter than those shown), then machine everything to fit.
i personally will not be machining but a well known V-rod builder will.

Don't know if 2019 will be my year but i'm inching painstakingly close...

On a side note, i picked up a side project, stupidly cheap from a co-worker who just couldn't dedicate the time.
I enjoy taking shit apart so there's no money lost for my time.

plan to use the funds from flipping this to assist with my Street Rod build.
