All the wires can be spliced in a very easy to get to area. Maybe I can shot some photos by the end of the week or next week. I will post a reply as soon as I can.

Rob...

Take a look at this

The module turns the turn signals into running, brake, and turnsignal lights. It may not be the same thing, but it does the same job (meaning adding running light function). That's all I meant. :surrender

I don't have any experience with these modules you posted, but for the price, they seem worth a try. Less than half of the price of the Biketronics Modules.

If I didn't already switch to LED's all around, I'd give them a try.....
The difference (and a big one for me) is that you MUST use red tailights.

I just was on a ride with buddy of mine, and he had turn signals that were brake lights but his (from the company, a custom V8 Chopper here ) were the yellow lens. And very nice during the day really got noticed them. He as been doing some bike shows and bike nights and has been seeing more of the yellow. I might try it when I go this route.

One more issue....If you use the HD version of this, it is a bit larger than the one from Biketronics. You need to remove the rear fender to mount it.

The one from Biketronics (I got it from Heavycycles.com) can be put in when the tail light is out. It just slides between the skin and the steel inner fender.

Don't know if it makes a difference, but it is something to consider.
The one for $109 this one? ? That also makes them running lights. Is there just one to make them brake lights?

Sure is....The Tailstopper module makes them brake lights and perserves the blinker function. It is smaller than the one from HD and tucks between the skin and the steel fender.

Joe doesn't have it on his site, but I got one from him. Give him a call. If you are going to run LED's and need a smart Equilizer anyway, the package he has will actually save you money. FWIW

I might be biased, but I think this is the ultimate setup :D

Joe made these for me. They are run/brake/signal lights. The part that is lit in the pic is the run and brake light. There is an outer ring of amber LEDs, as well as a center amber LED, that act as turn signals. IMO they look great and are VERY effective. Give Joe a call, I'm sure he'd make more.

Thanks vjam1. From what I recall the run/brake/signal lights were around $265 and the Stage 2 light was around $325. This was a couple of years ago now so I don't know what they go for today.

I've attached a better pic below.

Very beautiful bike there FEHRC :thumb:

I didn't know exactly where to post so it looks like it'll be here.
I have been making different arrays. I decided to use the Bar & Shield. This one is solid for run and brake.I'm gonna try another w just the outline for run and solid when the brake is lit.Putting these together sure does take alot of time.It also takes along time to recieve the components.I've been getting them from Australia but they are inexpensive w quality.

I've got the kit along with the Doc's stage 2 with pass throughs. i love it. here is an install tip: Smash the little plastic box the wires come out of in the kit. wrap the internal components in electrical tape. this makes it much smaller, and the install can be done by only removing the taillight, and not the entire rear fender. Looks great and looks like what I was looking for, unfortunately it also looks like wire splicing in tight places and I am no good at that. So I will keep looking for a Plug & Play Kit I guess.
David - we rode to the rock store on the last so. cal. ride. I have this kit on my bike too. Cheap and works great. Come by and take a look if you want. Easy to insall. I'll help you out.

I cut, spliced and lengthend all of the wires in the back of the fender so they can now be tucked around the out side edges. This gives plenty of room when using the stock tail light.
BTW I can't get good pics of the new light. It's not blurred in real life.

I also run the HD kit. I agree with the others, 3 brake lights are WAY better than 1. I have found the HD brake lights are not terribly bright. Many of the motorcycle crashes I've investigated were at night where the bike got rear ended. Motorcycle brake lights easily blend into the lights of vehicles in front of them in traffic. Easy extra safety.

I have noticed this when driving my truck. Having 3 brake or running lights at the stock locations give the driver behind you the DEPTH needed to quickly notice you aren't the taillight on the car ahead of you. I ran them on my Savage and will run them on my V-Rod.

Don't scream, but safety (one of these kits) will be my FIRST MOD. Has anyone seen this:

If he's using the yellow bulbs as brake lights, he'll have to change them before he gets it inspected. DOT standards require Red for brake lights. There are really only 3 legal colors for lighting on vehicles in motion. Headlights and backup lights
can only be white, brake lights, red only, t/sigs yellow in front/red or yellow in back, Liscense plate lighting- white. Side lighting, yellow front/ red rear

David, I have Doc's Stage One as a replacement to the stock run/brake light plus I added an LED run/brake light to my turn signals so now I have the best of both. I had the HD kit that you were considering and didn't care for it. If this interests you, PM me and I'll look up the name of the folks back east that make the LAD add on kit.

I have the HD kit on my bike for about 8 months, the only thing is the red lights are only turn or brake. Just today a buddy made me up a module to install to to make the brake turn lights stay on but dimmer until turn signals or brake lights activated. He has them adjusted to 8 watts. I am going to install tomorrow I need more lights on at night!
