Well, I think I was one of the first to bitch, and go to HD (and call HD) about the F'en tach light or lack there of. I was even told that it is supposed to be that way and there in not even a light in there. As you can see in the picture this little light was covered with a pink rubber boot, then sat in this yellowed crappy plastic dome, no shit you couldn't get any light out of it! WTF these people kill me. Well for some reason it took me this long to do the mod. form Heavycycles and once I turned the key, a tear ran down my face. The mod took about 45 min. the hardest part for me was trying to get out the last plastic dome, then the next hardest part was cleaning up and stopping the blood from where I stabbed myself with the blade while cutting of the tabs, while thinking to myself "this is a bad way to cut this" probably need a stitch or two, but stitches are for pussies! Nothing a little band-aid and tape can't fix. The pics are not that great, but if you have a CVO and you have not done this, DO IT!! It is the best $50 and 45 minutes you can do to the bike.
Oh on a side note I just E-Mailed the service manger it the dealer with the original E-Mail (from 2 years ago) about this, and included all the photos and a link to Heavycycles.
Good god I needed that laugh! You're killin' me FireMedic! :rofl2:
But you are correct, that tach light from HeavyCycle is the bom!!! I took mine out before the insurance company hauled off the wreck.
1. You wouldnt have cut yourself
A. If you woudnt want to ride in the dark
B. If you werent playing with sharp objects
C. If you werent distracted by the neighbor doing his lawn in his speedos
D. If you had a nice pair of "full-flush" cutting diagonal cutters
I was saving that kit just for you... and wondering the last 2 years when you were going to order it
Just kidding... glad you like it! Thanks for passing the info on too!
And yes, superglue works great for cuts... it just stings a little. If you're a pansy like me, get the 3m Liquid Bandage... super glue formulated to not sting.
It looks like someone at the factory got a little carried away gooping that dome in and splooged all over it. Nice picture with it on the instruction sheet :thumb:
