I figured I'd post a photo of mine. The guy I bought the bike from had this done last July. It's a Vance & Hines 2 into 1 with Polished CermaKrome ceramic coating.

The pipe sounds great (I've got the quiet baffle insert installed) and with this coating it looks like it came from the factory.
very nice!!

took the baffles out of my TABS and holy S$#!%# does it sound incredible!!! Extremely loud and i love it!!! LOL!!!

Do u have a tune to go along with that, any loss of power, I always heard that no back pressure with straight pipes on the vrod makes u lose some power and maybe even damage.

i had a harley mechanic take the baffles out and then he test road it and he says that he was looking for any lag during accelleration and he didn't find any at all. he said i should be good. the bike still runs great for me and i'm loving the sound. especially at idle! i'd say give it a try. if you don't like it then just put the baffles back in. they were simple to take off. slid right off! Let me me know!

saQ "C" 1 - please let me know how you take them out?

I wanna try this on my bike

Thanks in advance

Theyre easy, theres one bolt and nut holding the baffle in. You can see it if you look in the pipe all covered in black suit. Then you have to drill out the rivets on the tab emblem on the side of the pipe to be able to slide them out. Youll need some rivets and a rivet gun if u want to put the emblem back on. Good luck!

YES to the 1 bolt 1 nut to remove the baffles. NO to drilling out the rivets. mine just slid right out without any hammering or anything. just used my fingers to grab on the bar on the baffle and pulled. slid right out with a lil twisting. good luck!

Fast, that is a beaut! Does it get too hot? I have the same pipe, but have heard a few people on here say it will burn your engine or it gets hot enough to burn your jeans. Sell it or spend the $1200 to install/tune/filter/map/dyno it?

Ride on....

i just tried however it wont slide out even with a bit of twisting and yanking...

Maybe I need to drill out the rivets :(
Believe me when I tell you to drill those rivets theyll slide out like butter, the rivets are long that todd at tab performance puts in therefore the insulation on the baffles hang up, all ur doing is damaging them by all that twisting and yanking. Get yourself some rivets and a rivet gun and you can can snap new rivets in when your done. Ive done this three times with no problems when I switched from 2" baffles to 2 1/2" so bottom line
RIVETS- YES!! :chainsaw:

Ok cheers will give it a go - how much difference did switching from 2 to 2.5 make to the loudness and tone of your pipes please?
I ran the 2's for a couple mins before I realized I wanted louder, the 2.5.s are definately louder but the 2's have a slightly deeper tone. Not enough tone difference to make me switch back though. Ill take the 2.5's any day. Todd at tab performance stopped making them with the 2.5's because people were complaining they were too loud. Wah wah wah!!!!! Hope this helps .

i was lucky enough to get to hear the V&H in person before i bought anything...with that i bought the TABS for these reasons. 1st is sound the V&H sound more like a Jap bike where the Tabs sound more like a performance H-D
2nd.. looks more muscle car style, i didnt like the stock pipes cause that stuiped little pipes sticking out and the V&H pipes are not open in the back. plus the round look is awesome
just my opinion....
either way they both sound alot better than stock

I'm seeing lots of info on the baffles for the TAB's, but I'm getting the V&H based on the help from u guys. Deeper, racier, not so much blat blat blat etc.. But I'm looking for info on the diameter of the V&H without baffles and with the baffles. And for those of you who know...How noticable of a sound change is it with and without the baffles?

db and exhaust diameter

I've managed to get the info I was looking for about the outlet diameter of the V&H exhaust and dB levels if any are interestd.

No baffle - (4"x4 1/2" - 107 dB)
Factory Baffle (2 1/2" - 101 dB)
Quiet inserts (2" - 98 dB)

Anybody have comparable info for the tabs? From what I've read the 2" baffles that I believe come standard now are a little quieter but bassier.
they are standard...

my v&h are much bassier than my buddies tabs. His are louder, more traditional sounding harley...mine are more like that GT mustang that grumbles next to ya. I love the v&h!
