Forward passenger footrests help with squirmin...

If your passenger is over 5' tall then the problem is the location of the footpegs.

Stock footpegs are too far back forcing the passenger to hold an acute angle at the knee. A passenger peg reolcation kit from V-Mod or others will help considerably.

My wife and I have done some long trips on the V-Rod. She's about 5'5" and is reasonably happy with the passenger pillion pad for the stock seat, peg relocation kit and the large backrest.

We also have a Roadking with the full tour pack armchair, mustang large seat, the works... she prefers the the V-Rod cause it's smoother more stable ride. But would like me to get a mustang seat or equivalent ...:broke:

Went on a ride about 400 miles through the mtns. in Tenn, NC, and Ga. Stock seat, stock pegs. my girlfriend didn't complain once. I think I'm going to keep her!

Stock passenger seat! No way, that had to hurt! The stock passenger seat qualifies as cruel and unusual punishment.

But definitly keep her, and watch out, women have long memories and I've had to pay plenty for stuff that seemed OK at the time!

both me and the wife are both 6ft and we havent covered many miles on our vrod, but there are no complaints yet... however our last bike was a 03 cbr 600sportsbike, so the vrod is bound to be a big improvement. just need to stiffen up the rear suspension a bit.

I think if you ditch the helmets your weight problem would be gone! No seriously, I do mostly 2 up riding and when I had the stock shocks 3 was nice for 1 up and 2 up, my girl weighs around 100lbs. 4 would probably be great also if you were doing a lot of 2up riding on smooth roads or highway.

thanks spinedoc, i'll have a try with the different settings tonight. i agree about the helmets too:rofl2: the full-face and flip-face helmets offer more protection but they dont look as good as an open-face helmet. also when it is flipped down the chin strap kinda hurts when i look down at the speedo, due to the high mouth piece. its gonna have to go i was going to start a new thread to see what kind of helmets you fellow v-rodders favour. i think it would be great to see some pictures.

The wife-to-be has let it be known if another girl rides on my bike, my nuts are pretty much gone. But I am loving this week that she is in Tahoe and I can ride solo as fast as I want. Kinda nice to roll off the line and not have to say "hold on"

I only work 4 days a week so Friday is my day and the weekend is ours to ride. My wife has lost 115lbs yes 115lbs and looks great she said she feels like a new woman. Im glad and proud to have her on the back anytime!

I bought a SE Road King so I've answered this question in my own way

I tend to always take my best friend when I tour. Day rides or just a two-day run are a different story. We just spent 2 /2 weeks on the road with 6 days dedicated to visiting relatives. We covered close to 6,000 miles with the longest days covering over 800 miles. We experienced days of 500 miles in the rain, another sever storm with 30 miles of hail. The key is we experienced it together. No hotels booked, no set schedule. One day we thought we might spend two hours in an area and we spent 8. Even pulled off on the spur of the moment and booked a helicopter for 40 minutes. I know some go solo on these types of rides but I typically prefer to have my best friend along. I would have no issue going alone and think it could be just as much fun but from an entirely different perspective.

Jenny once did 500 miles with me, in one day, on the back, (Dallas to Mena Ark and back) before I had the really comfortable seat, tour pack, etc. There were drugs involved, I think.





And she hasn't offered to do it again.:deal:
