Hi friends! I just bought some vance and hines competition 2 in 1, the standard bracket that joins the final section with the motorcycle does not come, is it normal that it touches the collector with the clutch cover or does it have to have a minimum separation? (attached photo where touch the collector)
my model is a night rod special 2013
Thank you so much

I've worked on one with that exhaust and yes it's close and can touch the cover. Over time it will rub a groove in the cover. Several complaints on that problem. The VSCR I worked on had pipe wrap on it due to mids and burning his boots off so the wrap at least even though it touched, it eliminated the metal to metal carnage. If it was me, I'd be using a flat bar and hammer to form a small flat spot in that area to gain some clearance. The cover is permanent, the exhaust may not be as most tire of the noise after a while.

I have the same V&H and there is about 5 mm clearance between header and the cover. I don`t quite understand your explanation about the bracket of the muffler; do you have it or not? V&H should have a bracket for attaching to frame with 8mm bolt. There you can adjust the proper alignment of the muffler, one or two shims should do it.
Just loosen the headers first to adjust the exhaust.
There should be some clearance like Ron explained.

BadA.. looking ride by the way(y)

Thanks for the answers, I do not have the support, so I do not know what inclination the tube has to have, I will install it so that there is a minimum space of 5 mm so that it does not rub against the clutch cover and I will make a support.
Thank you so much

I have the same exhaust and it also came used without a bracket. I ordered the bracket kit from Vance and Hines.
When mounting up, stick a shim or something in between the header and the clutch cover while tightening everything up. Otherwise it will cause problems over time.
