Never done this before so I wanna make sure I do it right the first time...

I got a replacement rear fender for a scratch during dealer delivery (bought out of town) - can anyone walk me thru on how remove the pillion, light assembly, and fender so I can replace the the fender with a new one?

How is the light/license assembly attached to the fender?

Thanks!

REAL easy man nothing to worry about. Here's a tip from me though... If you have the alarm installed, make sure you have the key fob close by and flip the ignition while you're pulling the bar of the rear fender out from under the ECU. Holy crap that chirps LOUD if you rock it and you're leaned in trying to be careful!

2 bolts under the seat. Remove pillion by sliding forward. 6 Bolts hold the fender on. If you need to remove the light do that and unhook the wiring first. Just start pulling parts off like the rest of us do... you'll figure it out. Of course once I took my rear fender off I never put it back on, so I cant help with install...:D

1. Remove the nut and the bolt that keeps your seat from coming open.

2. Slide passanger pillion forward.

3. There are wire harnesses for your tail lights. Simply unclip them.

4 Remove six bolts that hold fender to subframe.

5. These are the two that I missed at first... The little strap that sits over your pillion is actually held on by two bolts that also secure the fender to the bike; remove them.

6. The fender should slide back and out.

One thing I may have forgotten, but I simply don't remember are the saddlebag mounting brackets under the fender. I can't remember if these are attached to the dog's a$$ assembly or not. Just look you should be able to tell.

Getting the license plate hodlder off the fender is very easy after that.
