Scott's build is completely done and we are trying to load a map in with new race tuner. The ecm mated fine with the tuner but it will not load this map. Has anyone ever seen this error? This is a brand new out of the package racetuner btw Scott's bke is an 02.

what version is the tuner software? I just downloaded the 4.7.7 version and it wont work on my ECM (04B but ecm had xxxx-01 pn). I could open the Doc Maps but could not load them...I could also retrieve the ECM info but the Mapping was incompatable. Had to cut and paste the tables into the 4.6.2 software and save it as the older version. Dont know if this relates but....

It's hard to tell from your screen shot because the "pop-up" error box is blocking the information but it looks like you have a mismatched tuning file and ECM. As mentioned in this previous thread, if the "ECM Information" and "File Information" don't match (except for the -xxx part number at the end of the CAL ID which can be a unique number) then the file isn't appropriate for the ECM.

I don't think it's a file format error. If you notice, the file's ECM PN matches the bikes ECM PN. What version is this race tuner? If it's 4.7.6 you might have stumbled onto the bug that required them to make the 4.7.7 version.

Mark its 4.6.2 version of the software.

Upgraded to the 4.7.7 version and im still getting the same error.:banghead:
I know Mark knows a lot more about this than me but I thought both the ECM PN and the CAL ID had to match (except for the last three numbers.) The file CAL ID looks OK but the bike's CAL ID looks incompatible like it was flashed with a cartridge at some time.

I have to fly home in 3 hours but if I dont get it to work im gonna have him take it to a dealer and have them put the digi tech on it and flash the ecm with a stock map.

Ok the dealer hooked up digi tech and reflashed the ecm, they also had to manually add the vin number. After they did that the race tuner worked like a charm. Huge headache and major PITA but it works now. Scott now a 1350 map in his bike until he can have it tuned.

Oh damn, I thought the "++++++++++++++" in the VIN was just the number blanked out. I should have caught that........ SORRY!

It says right in the race-tuner manual that 01 ecm's might not show the Vin number. Really crappy that we had to get all that done just to make the tuner work. Thanks for everyones help and suggestions.

If it's any consolation, mine did the same thing when I went to use my SERT.

It looks like the issue I had when I was trying to load a map while using my laptop that has vista...

I was hoping version 4.7.7 might have a cure for the vista issue...
