I am about to pick up an 06 Street Rod, but was curious where the carbon fiber Porsche Designs fender, clamshell and windscreen came from? The vin has a 4 on the 6th digit indicating it is a "special edition" but i cannot find any literature or anything that shows there was ever a special edition kit. Any info appreciated, as i plan on shortening the rear fender, and will have to match the paint!

Congrats on your new purchase.
Pretty sure your info on the 6th digit is incorrect. Was never anything to denote special edition, or existed a special edition of the R. The 5th and 6th digits denote the model type of the bike as in HA for VRSCA, HH for VRSCDX, HP for VRSCF, HC for VRSCR and more. The paint and seat are not original and the windshield is definitely aftermarket. If you can post up some more pics from different angles we may be able help you to identify brands etc.

Thank you all. @coastrider you are correct about the vin, its the 6th "position" on the vin number, technically the 8th number in the vin. My research shows it should be for intro date, with the breakdown being : 1= regular year, 2=mid year, 3=cali, 4=special edition, 5=special edition cali only, 6=california/midyear. My 8th digit is a 4.

Muffler is definitely going first, and if i can paint match the carbon fiber or find a wrap to match the clamshell, probably a shorter back fender too

though I have a VRSC"D" model, but thanks for letting me know, i will keep an eye out for one being the "unicorn" of the bunch!
VRSCD can probably be categorized as a Unicorn as that model was only produced in the period 2006-2008 and is equipped with attractive components.
