Hey man I'm 23 and laid my CBR I had down a few years ago. Stinks not having a bike and dealing with the insurance can be frustrating. But hang in there man. I know for me it made me appreciate what I had a lot more, esp. when I saw all my friends riding their bikes. Good luck and let us know what happens.

yea in october last year I laid my bike down after a new rear tire. All said and done I got a fixed bike with muscle wheels and a $6000 leftover balance after my bike was fixed to play around with. They also paid for a new coat. (I still rock the old one :) ) and a new helmet. So after i got a fixed bike Arnotts, thundermax, rizomas and supercharger here I came

They paid you $6k to crash your bike after fixing it? Doesn't sound like any insurance I've heard of lol.

When I was pricing my rod for insurance, it's like $2k/year for full coverage and after I turn 25 it goes down to less than $500/year... huh? Yeah yeah, "high risk" ect... pretty damn arbitrary if you ask me. My driving/riding record is pretty much pristine as well.

And this is what happens with new tires if you don't clean the compound properly.

2k a year with a clean driving record? they are ripping you i pay 900 a year and my record isn't very clean but soon it will be completely clean so ill get it redone. you should go check around i have progressive

Yup!

New tires are like riding on ice.

The local / bggest motorcycle tire shop around here zdenocycle ALWAYS warns you and makes sure that you know what the heck you're doing when you get new tires from them. I'm trying to think if I had to sign something (disclaimer) when I got my last set of tires for my Honda.
They always have people crash in the parking lot after installing new tires.

Sorry about your crash!

I never knew. Jeez, you think they would remove compound upon purchase or install. Guess Ive been lucky, my latest tire was a 180 from HD. You would think they would warn you.

I'm 23.... I couldn't believe the rate when they told me... My CBR was on my 'rents policy. But I'd def. try and look at what Geico has to offer. You can call your local BMV or DMV and ask for a driver abstract (at least in OH) and it will list any violations on your licenses. That's what I did.

I Think Ill Give Geico A Call Later And See What My Insurance Would Be With Them Be Nice To Save Money.

Hell When I First Bought My Sv I Couldn't Find A Place That Would Insure Me For Less Than 7000k A Year Finally A Freind Pointed Me In The Direction Of His Insurance Agent Got It For 300 A Year Wow What A Difference

Like everyone else says on here... saving money in one spot means more money for mods... hahah..... I just looked up my coverage and its as follows (not over the top but I feel it's enough):

Bodily Injury Liability: 100k/300k
Property Damage: 50k
Medical Payments (Got great Health Insurance through work): 1k
Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury: 12500/25K
Uninsured Motorist:12500/25k
Comprehensive: $250 Ded.
Collision: $250 Ded.

Total Policy Price (12 months):$388
Also got discounts for Good Driver, Taking a Moto. Safety Course, and Multiple Policy for having my car with them too!!!

-That's the coverage I had with Allstate when I had my accident a few years ago and it took care of all my hospital bills and such. Granted it was nothing to serious but my health insurance covered everything beyond the 1k covered by my moto. insurance.
