i would try some seafoam in the tank or some other injector cleaner and see what that does, it could have sucked some trash into the injectors
 
Running these bikes out of fuel is a mistake. Pumps can get damaged just running them dry one time. Check your fuel pressure first.

Pump out old gas to gas can with Georgia credit card.( which is a 6 foot hose) Put in new fuel and see how it runs from there and keep the Faith. Use old fuel for lawn mower.

Ran out of gas riding my '05 SE home from the dealer (both I and the dealer didn't realize no lights on the gauge meant EMPTY):hmm:. A very embarrassed HD salesman drove out with a gallon of gas and got me going. Engine started right away and has run smoothly since. I've since guessed that when the last red diode goes out I've got about 20 miles before I'm on fumes only. I start looking for gas well before then.
