I have the Badlander seat, and I like the lower back support, but my tailbone is in throbbing after 20 minutes or so.

Someone mentioned gel packs in another thread (I think). Is this something that could be put in a Badlander, Willie G., or stock for that matter? Where do you get such a thing and would you need to have it installed by a pro?

purevenum....you don't like the sundowner? I was thinking about getting one. It looks the most comfortable for short and long rides.
My gal and I have spent two whole days riding on my Sundowner (to Canada and back) and it was excellent. I suppose you can't please all of the people all of the time, but the Sundowner has the reputation of being among the most comfortable seats on the market for the long rides.

If you still have the stock passenger pillion on your bike and do any 2-up riding at all, then you really don't love your wife/girlfriend/mistress/life partner. That thing is an absolute torture device.

Anybody remember the final scene in harley davison and the marlboro man?

Hot hitchhiker chick in torn jeans gets on the back of Mickey Roarke's bike. Ain't no rear seat a all, so she sits her skinny butt on the fender. Ain't no rear footpegs, so she wraps her legs around his waist- and off they ride into the sunset.

I had no problem with the stock seat either but the wife was starting to get rather annoyed. A Sundowner soled that problem. I just did a 300 mile jaunt on the Sundowner. Not a problem.
I have Sundowner and my wife has Sundowner. I went to Sturgis and back last summer 4900 miles and it was a great seat. To Daytona and back this year 2500 miles and it did great. Both of us to the mountains, 1250 4 days and the Sundowner is great. The Sundowner is the best of the Harley bunch, not sure about Corbin, have not tryed one yet on this bike. Roy Rogers

I have a 'portable" Saddlemen Gel pack. It is a life saver for the wife, even with the Sundowner passenger pillon. I've tried it on the front and besides raising me up an inch, I didn't find it really helps at all. But on a long ride, its a nice change (after a while, anything is a nice change). The stock sundowner is really pretty good.
I rented a bike with a stock seat, and boy does that suck after a couple of hours. Any dealer who rents V-rods with stock seats isn't doing sales of V-rods any favors. A guy in Montana who used to work at a dealer said that on several occasions, they got a call from a rental customer who was several hours away saying "come get me - no way am I riding this thing back".

So is the Willey G. any better on the tailbone than the Badlander I have? I prefer their looks to the Sundowner, but my tailbone is taking precedent.

Take a look at my post in products section.

Yes

Yes. The Willie G is perfect on your tailbone. in fact, it's got a cut-out in the middle so that just your cheeks touch it, and your tailbone doesn't. Its back support is nicely done as well.

I've got both the Sundowner and the Willie G. For short, around town trips, and my daily commute, I prefer the Willie G, as it's lower (by almost 1"), narrower and firmer. The Sundowner is more comfy for longer trips, but I find it takes a bit away from the sporty feel of the bike because you sit *in* it, rather than *on* it. The Sundowner's passenger pad is also about a million times wider than Willie's or the stock. (which are hot lookin' but near useless)

I've got a sundowner but my wife loves it compaired to the stock. She couldnt last five miles w/ the stock
How does the Sundowner passenger seat compare to the Touring passenger seat? Looking at them in the catalog, they seem like they are the same thing.

The touring passenger seat is a big waste of money .I know cause I bought one, Had it put on when I bought the bike 'cause I knew the stock pillion would'nt cut it.Damn thinks hard as a rock wife made 50 miles at most and was ready to hop off and walk home. Have'nt had her on the back since I got the Sundowner though.

All hail the William G!!!!!

Are you talking about the touring seat that was in the P&A catalog back in 07? When I bought my 07, I immediately purchased the touring seat from H/D P&A catalog. We both loved it. It seems like that seat is no longer available. I would like to find a place where I could find one. Does anyone know where I can find one,?
