Now I know this bike gets bad gas mileage, but I am getting 37 MPG highway with a stock bike. I was wondering if this is worth it to call the dealership? All I have done is add some chrome, change the seat and use AMSOIL. Will I be wasting my time bitching about this?

That's decent gas mileage on these - I get better gas mileage if I ride it like a air-cooled bike (keeping it between 3-4krpm), but that isn't much fun...

That is not bad gas milage. I get about 32mpg with a PCIII, SE air filter topless and modded pipes.

I get better mileage than my truck so really do not care. Besides, it's fun to get on the throttle. If I take a ride say 100 miles or so and it costs me 10-12 bucks it was worth it. Could have spent that much going to the movies or at McDonalds...(depends how hungry I am). Just my opinion...I'll shut up now.

I just went over 1k miles last week. Service and then went to Santa Barbara last weekend. about 240miles each way, I have an R with sport windsheild and vrscr sig. bags and the SE Air cleaner. Pretty much 75-85 down with stops at 145-165 miles. consistently 35-38 mpg, coming and going.
