We'll, I bought it!!!!!!! 2007 DX Gloss with 4100 miles, clean, Rienhart exhaust, aftermarket HD hand and foot controls for $11,000. Picked it up Friday. Thank you all for your insite. I did 200 miles in the last two days and its an awesome bike. Fun to ride. Although it's not a dog in the terms of speed and cornering its still no sport bike. I loved my sport bike but it was fun for 20 minutes at a clip until it wasnt comfortable. I'll be 29 this year and I think Im in a transition phase. I miss my sport bike speed and handling dearly but the comfort and fun on the DX make up for all that. A few things I noticed about it: After 90+ mph the front end gets shakey so much so where as I dont want to push it any faster. I hit 100 and it felt unstable...is there a fix for this? At speeds over 70mph my half helmet (used to the full face and aerodynamics of my sport bike) becomes a windcatch and starts to choke up on the chin strap hardcore where are its almost not fun. Any fix for that? The Reinharts are loud..crazy loud. Is that normal with any exhaust on the Vrod or is that brand know for that? Other than that Im very happy with the bike and can't wait to mod it up.

Congratulations, Good luck and enjoy :moped:

Good choice on the bike. I think you'll love it.

As to your questions... What tires are on the bike? Stock Dunlops? A lot of people here prefer going with Metzler or Avons, as they perform better than the Dunlops. The Dunlops are bad to cup on the front.

I think all half helmets do that. I only wear full face.

Is the Rinehart 2-2 or 2-1? The 2-2 are loud, and many here love the sound as it is close to the traditional Harley sound. You tend to lose a couple of hp with it compared to a 2-1 pipe.

They are stock Dunlops with 4200miles on them. It will be awhile until I replace them but when its time I will research something better. I think I will use my old full face for days I feel like ripping around, and cruise w/ my half helmet. Yes, the Rineharts are 2-2's and I'm finding alot of aftermarket exhaust are loud on the Vrod

38 here & the DX is my first cruiser. I to ventured out of the sportbike world having
owned a R6,636,ZX10 & a Gsxr 1k.

No regrets & no desire to go back to a supersport, though if I could afford it I would
have a Busa or ZX14 (in sport touring mode) next to the DX.
