Hello everyone. Im looking to by a Night Rod Special. I recently sold my 2004 Yamaha R1 mainly in hopes of buying something more comfortable, Im going to be 29 this year and I think my interests are changing. It was a very hard choice to make. I loved my R1..the speed, handling, whipping around through twisties but after 1 hour its no fun to ride due to comfort. I think I've settled on a 2007 + DX....it seems to have comfort and still some speed and handling. I do have a few basic questions. I've searched the forum and really haven't found the answers I wanted
Here's a few questions:
-What are the exact hq and tq specs (factory rated and stock real world dynoed) for the 2007 and 2008and up?
-What are the 1/4 times for both years (again factory rated and real world runs)?
- Is there that much performance differance from the 1130 to the 1250?
-I'm looking a 2 2007 Dx's in my area. Both are between 11-11.5k with 5000 miles and basic mods (exhaust and a few extras)...is that a good price range or just avg?
-Realistically since all my friends have sportbikes, how will the VRod do as far as keeping up on twisties and highway. I know its not going to come out #1, but I still want to hang with them on the road.
Thank you for all the help and hopefully if all goes well I will be on this forum alot more!
Jon
