How long did the factory battery last on your F? Mine is 2.5 years old and seems to be starting to fail. Any suggestions on a replacement battery will be appreciated!

Thanks guys

Mine was the original OEM battery from '06, replaced it this year at 20,000 miles since it was accessable when changing plugs. It was still good but I thought it was time. Replacement was a Yuasa.

Being on a tender 99% of the time when it's parked in the garage may have something to do with it but not having the year long high temperatures of Arizona or Florida could be the case too.

I got over 5 years on my OEM Battery. I always have it on a Tender, when parked at home.

Mines @ 3yrs.. Still going strong.. We'll see how it survives the winter..
I've had Batteries last 2 - 3 years past their expected life.. I've also had some that went dead in 6 freakin' months.. :banghead: Luck of the Draw I guess.

A real Tender is a "Smart Charger" that shuts off when the Battery is at full charge. my Tender is a cheap "Harbor Freight" one, and has worked fine on my '04B.

Mine is 4 years old. Only time it has failed is if it sat in the garage too long off the thender (didn't have a tender the first two years and always started no problem in the spring). Got stranded last weekend because I accidentally left the ignition on for about 4 minutes. Decided it was time and followed Big Tony's advice and ordered a Shorai.

I Posted this to another thread.

It would help if you posted the brand name of what you have hooked to your battery to avoid a miscommunication.

Load tests showed the battery to be border line and that just how it acted in the bike. I'm picking up a new Shorai today. FYI a Deltran Battery Tender is safe to use on Lithium Technology batteries. Notice I have used the brand name,Deltran Battery Tender. It's kind of like Q-Tips. They are really cottons swabs but everyone calls them Q-Tips when every they see one.

If it's hooked to the battery everyone calls it a battery tender. It could be a trickle charger or something else. A Deltran Battery Tender brand will not hurt your battery. It is a float style charger with out a desulfation mode.

Yeah I was going to say.. if your tender is killing your battery then either something is wrong with it or its quality is questionable.

As far as the Lincoln LS goes, while the tender definitely helped for a while from 2000-2005 Ford was using some kind of "Magical Batteries" on their vehicles that seemed to last absolutely forever! Just the other day I had a 2003 Ford Taurus at work with its original battery that still tested good!

I've had it in my bike for a year. Work good, last long time.

Dimensionally, I believe the two are the same, but the one I'm using weighs just a bit more (maybe half a pound?), but I thought that was a good trade off for the additional CCA-- especially living in Denver and having to deal with cold weather on occasion.

It would probably work anyway Bicep ...........

That one one in your link has 315 CCA.... Flys has 405 CCA .....mine has 360 CCA.

I would definitely go as big the spot allows.... so if Flys size would be the biggest available then do it......the old saying.....do it once...

Not sure what Ozracer used but he had to get a bigger one as it didnt have enuff crank in it.

I have had it in bike over a year also......just need to "warm it up" in cold weather...........They are definitely moody in the cold weather........
