Just having the 26 tooth pulley installed. Seems my bike came with a 30 tooth like the euro vrods, It was bought new in Japan. My wrench turner is having trouble with the install he say the belt is too loose. Most guys of have done this swap have gone from 28 to 26. Im going from 30 to 26. Can someone tell me if ill need a new belt.??

Another issue is he say the pulley is too close to the tranny housing. Does an additional spacer come with the Pulley?
I have emailed Ohiovrod but its night time and he is a busy man and takes sometime to answer at the best of times.

Any help is much appreciated.

did he bolt it to the inside or the outside of the flange????

Sounds like he has put it on the wrong side of the flange.

You will need the 149T belt as you will run out of adjuster to use the 150T belt.

Do they make a 148 tooth belt? Seem if dropping 4 teeth i would be best to drop at least 2 teeth in the new belt.

Nope. You could add some girth to the adjuster and still use the 150 tooth belt. I know 2 people on the forum have done that.

I want to say BWDS from Austraila added some thin 1/8" wire material to the adjuster.

I included spacers (aka 1/4" keys) for spacing the belt back further back. Instructions should have been included I will email you some right now.

Shouldn't it be a lot easier to just change the belt to a 149t than welding the wires on? I thought the spacers only were needed for the wide frame bikes?

Yeah Murphy, should be. Ill be going with a 240 in the coming months so ill need an SE belt in any case. The pulley problem was solved. All had to do with lack of instruction and my not looking close enough to threads. Everywhere i read "its a straight swap" which isnt exactly true. It takes a lil grinding.
Thanks to everyone for the patience.

I am glad the instructions got to you and everything is working out. Sorry if your mislead, good luck and have fun.

Didnt feel mislead at all, just confused. Thanks heaps guys.
Not trying to confuse you further, but I just did a 240 conversion on my bike and I bought an offset 26t pulley. No grinding was needed.

If you do the 240 later on, will you need a new "offset" style pulley or will the standard type still work with the 240 conversion? Maybe someone can answer that before you complete the install.
