Just chated with a reliable source and got some news on HD wheel testing for the V-Rod.

He said he was talking to a test rider who was testing the new wheels and said they were awesome. He also said they were puting the revolution engine on a differand frame. One with a shorter wheelbase like a Buell. He said it would walk away from the V-Rod.

Anybody else got any good rumors?
Sure. How about this one...

Harley-Davidson to purchase 90% share in BMW Motorrad

AP-Milwaukee, WI: June 10, 2004 - In a deal that has been in the works, reportedly, for over five years, Harley Davidson Motor Company (NYSE:HDI) reported today that the Board of Directors had authorized $4.25 billion for purchase of shares of Bayerische Motoren-Werke AG (PNK:BMWCF) that would net Harley Davidson roughly 90% control of the German motorcycle manufacturer.

Citing the success of the Daimler-Chrysler merger a few years ago, Harley Davidson CEO Jeff Bleustein said, "Harley Davidson stands for Americana and BMW has always been considered the pinnacle of German motorcycle engineering. This merger brings two of the most powerful and best-selling brands together in what we are confident will become a win-win situation for all of our stockholders.

The new merged company has not yet been officially named, and officials with Harley Davidson and BMW have indicated that the two divisions will remain largely seperate in management, but some indicated that the name "HD-BMW" was being floated as a possible moniker.

We only have a few more weeks. Ya'll sound like 6 year olds on Dec. 15. We will all find out. And I'm sure this site will be the first to know. I just hope they don't put it in a Buell. "I HATE BUELLS!!!!" Later SKI.

Since we are on foriegn talk I also want to mention that Harley is in the process of working with China for the manufacturing of more parts and assemblies. I believe it may have been announced at the same time as the above since I heard on the radio the same day.

Actually the China agreement has nothing to do with parts, it's all about marketing within China

CHICAGO, June 9 (Reuters) - Harley-Davidson Inc. (NYSE:HDI - News) has reached a preliminary agreement with Chinese motorcycle maker Zongshen Motorcycle Group as it looks to gain a foothold in the potentially lucrative China market, the companies said on Wednesday from Zongshen's headquarters in Chongqing, China.

Under the agreement, Harley-Davidson would share noncompeting technology and marketing expertise with Zongshen in exchange for assistance in navigating business practices, markets and distribution channels in China.

Dang! Someone finally learned how to take over a country and introduce democracy without spilling a drop of blood. JUST INTRODUCE HARLEY's TO THE CITIZENS!!! That's a GREAT idea! :thumb: :thumb:

I can see it now...some rough looking Chinese bro's drinkin' beers and running a big burnout pit in Tienemen Square!

GM has been spending the big bucks there for the last decade or so, trying to get a leg up in the market there. I believe Volkswagon has a large establishment in the Chinese economy as well as a few other's. May be a good idea to get some Chinese stock's??? :)

HERE"S ANOTHER ONE...

American Iron aka Buzz in his column in this month's magazine said that he was scheduled to ride the new 2005's in Sturgis and preview Harley's new HOT Motorcycle.

I wonder if its HD's Big Bore V-Rod. It wouldn't suprise me.

Maybe we'll see a 6 speed too.

I was at the dealer today and talked with the owner about the future. He had stated that he has talked to the factory guys about a possible LARGER V-Rod motor (140hp) coming out. Not exactly sure when but I don't think it will be long. The factory wants to make it a CVO bike like the Deuce and others but he said this scares him since they already are marking them down to sell them and now they are supposed to bring the price up around $25K+. They do have some nice colors for 2005 as I got to see his sample book. The Black Cherry Pearl and Black Pearl tutone is my favorite along with a nice orange pearl and black tutone limited set.

Also for you BB guys they had a wiseco kit they were going to put in their shop V-Rod but wiseco changed the sleeves some how so they sent them back to exchange for the updated ones. Not sure whats different. Material, Thickness?

Naaa dude, that probaly won't happen because some say if you run a V-rod motor under 6000 RPM that you will hurt the motor.

I heard that a BB kit was coming out,so you don't have to have the case machined for the new sleeves.Maybe that's what your dealer is doing.Sure will help to bring down the price.Like about $1K less. :thumb:

The dealer in NY had a clip from the 2004 brochure about the 2005 V-Rod. Someone may have already mentioned this but they said the HP is upped and the motor changed. It did not say how much everything changed but said that they had to change the speedo to 150mph.

The blonde girl who sold me my chaps with extra long tassles at my local dealer said the 2005 Vrod will be turbine powered. Boy I can't wait!

People did not believe me when I told them the flux capacitor would become a reality.
You heard it first from ME!
