Folks - any suggestions or ideas as to what the problem is with my 2003 VRod would be greatly appreciated.
On the way to run an errand tonight my headlight flickered once and then the bike completely lost power and shut down. Turning the key does nothing. I have no electric power what-so-ever. My instrument panel won't even come on - no illumination, no codes, nothing. My speedometer is still stuck at 40mph which is the speed I was going when the bike shut down. Strange thing is, when I take the key out, the key indicator on my instrument panel illuminates, bareley, and stays lit with the key out. I have had a couple of things done to it recently. I replaced the "A" riser with the "B" and had the fuel flange replacement performed a couple of months ago by the dealer. Also installed an HID bulb with ballast. I was lucky to not have been in traffic and was able to get from the left lane to the side of the road safely. Had to call a tow truck to get it back home. Any help on what the problem might be would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance - Bill.
