According to the 2007 parts catalogue the only restricted sale parts are the special forces decals.

Air Box (prime) 66154-03BEO
Decal left 13344-07
Decal right 13345-07
Decal top 13346-07

The only mention of painted parts are the radiator trim covers which refers you to the painted parts catalogue which I do not have. No other cosmetic cover is mentioned in the catalogue other than 'prime'.

Hope that is of some help to you.

Hi Neil

Not logged on for a while. I wondered about a lock or something, then decided I didn't really leave it anywhere unattended too long (so far!). I recall in the UK when Ford Cosworths were getting stolen a lot, some guy electrified his and badly damaged a would be thief. :angeldev: Very funny, totally justified, I think you should do this...but I think he was sent to prison...maybe worth it. :soapbox: Oh, for you in the US, it seems to sum up our justice system...thief gets off, victim gets punished, but that's my rant....

Nelly,

Which parts book are you referring to as there is no 2007 SE model? There is an SE specific parts book. Non SE items do not show up in the regular parts books. The part you listed is a 2003 airbox cover. It is NOT an SE part. The SE parts are restricted by VIN and will run you over $1,600. The main parts are:

Outer cover 66097-06BZO (scarlet red - as in my avatar) - $1,101.69
Center console 71321-05 - $132.99
LED/LCD assembly 69239-05 - $315.69

This list is not complete and does not include incidentals such as screws, nuts, lens or bezel for the fuel gauge, emblems, etc.

My mistake sorry.:banghead: Was thinking about the 'X' parts and not the Screamin Eagle parts. Apologies for misleading anyone.

Of course you are right. The Screamin' Eagle parts are restricted and according to my dealer you have to provide them with a frame number. I know when I had my Fat Boy I wanted to paint it and add the Nostalgia's badges (the first Nostalgia). Although I could find the order number the dealer could not order me them unless I provided the original badges for return (i.e. exchange basis) and a valid VIN number. I presume all this is to prevent someone trying to pass of one model for another perhaps more desireable model.

Again sorry for any confusion.:hidesbeh:

It is way to easy to remove a custom (expensive) airbox without triggering the alarm - in fact it can be done in seconds...

If anyone wants a seat alarm I can help as I am about to add one to my bike - actually started. You do have to (carefully) cut/drill a 3/4 hole in the top of you TSSM to gain accees to the TSSM circuit board... You also have to be real good at soldering to surface mount curcuit board - through a 3/4 inch hole of all things unless you want to cut more plastic off the TSSM. The wires route out the tail end of the TSSM (where the plug is) and you can seal the hole right back up (with original plastic depending on how you cut the hole). I am currently toying with both a motion switch (like the TSSM has) and a mico-magnetic switch (both purchased from DigiKey). The magnetic switch looks like it will be my choice since I can keep the switch hidden in th passenger seat and put the other piece in the main seat - when seat is opened the contacts close - can't really be bypassed. I have a 2007 so the TSSM is in the passenger seat also making this easy. The wires are parallel to the stock motion switch - had to solder one wire to pin of IC and another to a resistor (both surface mount). I will post a how to when I am done.

I'm resurrecting an old thread to check if there's new technology on seat alarms.
Anybody attempt this or any other method? I'm only interested in seat alarms.
