I know gas prices are high but what's your reason for wanting to alarm your seat......

Unless they own a v-rod or know anything about them, most people don't know the seat opens up or the gas tank is under it....They think the air box cover is the tank....I guess if you live in a high crime area or leave your bike unattended for long periods of time out of sight, it may be a good idea...

I am worried about someone Stealing the air box cover. Since it is a limited production model , I will not be able to just buy another one.
Why wouldn't you be able to buy another? The dealer has to support the bike (trying to stifle laughter). It is available, but just costs a whole lot more than a regular one. I was shocked when I wanted to buy a spare rear fender for a soon to be finished project (it's with Josh right now), and the stealer quoted me almost $900 for the rear fender! I ended up getting a primered rear 240 fender from the wide tire kit for $220. I know the SE tins are hand painted off the regular line, but geeesh!

If it gets stolen, wouldn't your insurance cover it? I know I'd only have to shell out $50.

Hope you don't mind, I combined two treads to make tracking this info easier.

Thanks

Part number will do you no good unless you show the dealer a SE title. Only SE owners can order anything that is SE specific. Also, it's be one hell of an expensive piece of wall art.
