2004 vrsca stock pipes with baffle caps and lining (if any) removed, k&n air filter with topless mod. Power vision tuner on order from fuel Moto. Should I Dyno or go off the map they give me?
It ran lean with stock map and top box on (with k&n and pipes mod)Best option is to dyno tune it via O2 sensors, which the dyno guy will use. You can try some of their base maps. Without sensors, to alter the tune you can modify the tune by increasing or decreasing the areas of the VE tables in 5% increments to improve areas that don't run quite right. Much like one would do with a PC by altering fuel tables.

It will be safe to run a base map. As for basic autotune, you don't have O2 sensors for that to work. That would require a separate autotune module and sensors, along with the current PV unit you have. O2 sensors is what does the map modifications via autotune, be it basic (stock sensors) 08-2017 bikes or wideband tuning with the module. It ran rich with stock map and top box on (with k&n and pipes mod)
Do you believe the map they send with the tuner will be good to ride to the Dyno?(About 25 mins) I told them specs and stage 1. Edit: Maybe install tune and run auto tune basic first?
Ok cool, thank you! That's what I was reading after I replied initially. Hoping for the best and will most likely keep updated with resultsIt will be safe to run a base map.
