Pretty bold statement and nothing at all against Harley or other lines but its true,,,,,,,,,,,,,, The low, wide tire, hotrod look of the muscle sold me on the spot. I went into my buddies Harley shop over the holiday's 2 years ago and happened to see the muscle, I asked him WTF is that bro?? (I think thats verbatim) He told me and i said I'll be back next week with a trailer to pick it up. He was shocked because he knows my bike taste for the last 30 years. I never asked how much, i never asked for another color or options and gave him and check and said you fill it in, not concerned about price because its what i wanted.

To my surprise at the end of the month I saw my statement and was shocked at the total price (I had expected more). No need for selling me on the muscle,,,,, this bike sell's itself. ride safe, Paul

:them: As I said when I first joined...was anti-harley becaue of the lack of technology, but have always loved the vrod. I was dead set on getting a victory hammer or jackpot and checked out the HD site fro giggles. saw the muscle and fell in love, went the next day to the dealer to see if they had one to look at! not big on chrome so satin finish really appealed to me, like the turn signals in mirrors and LED tail light in fender.

I am not a FORD guy, but now have been thinking about getting a HD f150 to go along with the bike...:D

still remember where i was when i saw my first NRS ...... HAD TO HAVE A ROD !!! When i was able to aFFord one The "F" Fit me better and the rest is history !!

If it were not for the V-Rod, I would not have bought a Harley. I came very close to buying the DX Night Rod Special, love that bike. I really like all the V-Rods, each model has it's own personality imo.

was originally looking to replace my softail with a Fat Bob, took a demo and wasn't impressed at all, demo days so what the hell will ride them all, rode an A and a Muscle, came back and the wife could see the shit eating grin through my full face helmet and knew I was hooked

Hanny, a trailer, was that the beginning of keeping the mileage low? :stilpoke:

Yep for me a Muscle or nothing
After riding a Road Glide from Las Vegas to Sturgis last year no way I could own one
If not for the VRod I'd probably go for a Victory

I own and now wrench and customize VRods and to be completely honest the HD name brought me to the stealer-ship but the original 02 VRod sold me back in 05. I have said this for years now it could have said Yamaha I would have still bought it.

I never would have got another Harley if not for the Muscle. I had a new 73 super glide that sh!t oil all over my leg every time I got on it ( cork push rod tube gaskets ) I was in the Marines at the time and I spent more of my time cutting the grass on the golf course's in Aberdeen proving grounds for Failing inspection. Then riding the back roads of that most beautiFul state of Maryland. I was told that iF ( I ) Fixed the bike they would Void all warrants on the bike. The carburetor Cough all the time and and the pipes Farted the only thing it did well was look good. It was in there shop three times ( Two weeks each time ). After 8 months I dump it back in my home town of Detroit were there was a 9 mouth waiting list for it. Got it for 2,800 Bucks and sold it for 3,600 Bucks and got a basket case Norton P11 Ranger I rebuilt her and still have her. The Muscle and are brotherhood is the only thing that brings me here ( I am not a very social creature). I just like to Ride and ( you guys ) inspire me to build things for are Superior Machine. :ride:

I always rode sport bikes (mostly Yamaha's) and would never in a million years think I'd ever have a Harley.

Then, my buddy got a classic A.

Loved it, but wasn't thrilled with the forward controls.

He mentioned that he thought there was a limited run of V-Rod's that had mid controls.

That led me to the R.

Loved it. Loved it. LOVED IT.

Then I had my cervical spine fused.

Can't ride it. Can't ride it. CAN'T RIDE IT.

Sold the R to my best friend.

Looked at the AW. Nope. Looked at the DX. Welllll maybe. Then the '12's came out and that was the end of that-- the rear end is just horrible. Then I went back and looked at the F, which I'd never really seriously ever considered andwent.......... ok, let's give it a try.

And now it's in my garage.

Still miss my mid-sets with a 40 degree lean angle though!

R.

Would not have a Hardly

I walked into a Hardly dealer and said I did not want a pushrod, air cooled, noise generator, capable of changing fuel into noise while making hardly any power.

Showed me a silver Muscle - bought it.:deal:

i have said this plenty, there is a big difference between a motorcycle enthusiast and a harley rider.

i had a wide glide and it was a slug, id twist the throttle, it would make alot of noise and then think about going. coming from more sport oriented bikes (gsxr6, triumph speed triple) i wanted a cruiser with get up and go. it came down to the triumph rocket 3 - too big, vmax- too expensive and ugly, suzuki m109r - too heavy, the muscle - unique, fast and love the lines

i talk to alot of guys with the harley big rigs and tell them they shouldve got a goldwing

Wonted something comperable to my Suzuki 850 road a herritase classic than a vrod fell in love with the vrod. Took me four more years to get on. Took wife to look and sit on a a and a muscle, since she rides with me a lot. She liked the seat on the muscle better so we bought it. Was a deal we could not pass up. Now that we have the muscle can not see of having anything but the muscle. Love this HD and can never see me parting with it. Might get a lazy boy later but will always have the muscle. My uncle also has his first love bike and has it in storage , the first year gold wing and the first one sold in Inc.
