Ok, all of you who have been on here forever I tried reading a lot of what you had to say about the turbo vs supercharger thing & there is a lot for sure so if I missed what you wrote my apologies.
Being in the industry after I recently picked this bike up (08' VRSCDX) it lacked what I was used to for mid-range power. Coming from riding sport bikes I like the bottom end grunt but the mid to top range was just not there.
Ok, onto the unit....
The unit is newly redesigned from the ground up by Sprintex. Patrick Racing picked up the US sales of the product & I have spoken to them in some depth. (V&H dropped the product about this time last year as while they were waiting on the redesign they found new things to keep them busy)
If you have an 08' and have the cash I am going to recommended it. It is not huge or even noticable unless you are a vrod owner & realize the water pump is gone.
Whether it is a turbo or a supercharger if you push to much boost you are going to blow stuff up. The sprintex unit is made to work with the stock internals & as reported is 100% reliable. It also comes with a full ECM unit & works with your factory o2 sensors. That means that while you are riding up the side of a mountain or when the weather changes suddenly from 65 degrees to 95 degrees your bike still runs perfectly! Also & this just blew me away; there is no dyno needed!!!
Patrick Racing offers billet covers in choices of raw billet, Anodized black & maybe chrome.
Reliablity & driveability are important to me as I like to ride & not be at the shop. I also like to go very fast. The fastest cars in the world use superchargers because they are reliable & run cool. I read some of the #'s of what the trask units do. Very impressive to say the least. To be in the same ball park & have a almost factory reliable bike to me is more impressive.
