If one of the ones you have is too wide. It is pretty easy to make spacers to make it fit. I installed the later, taller, wide one on my 03 using the spacers that connect the luggage rack to the base plate. Just need 4 bolts that are a 1/2 inch longer than what came with it. My original pad fit perfectly. Big thanks to forum member "srowse" for the info.

Thanks for the reply, Thus far the two backrests I bought were too narrow for the VRSCR baseplate, unfortunately.

Keep checking on goggle with the part # murphydog it will come up eventually - also check Vintage parts WI they often have R Model parts I've bought quite a few items from them but Harley dealer must be used to buy directly from them - sometimes they post for sale on e bay - they have some items on there now. & Good Luck !

Wonder of all wonders, I typed in the chrome backrest part number on eBay and there it was! Found the backrest pad too! Thanks for the suggestion.
