Ok, I'm trying to separate the header and collector (03 v-rod) and am having a pain of a time. I've loosed the clamps between the header and collector, removed the hanger bolt and the allen bolt on the bottom. When I wiggle the collector the whole system moves.

Any ideas? Trying to get everything ready for when my powerline modded collector shows up in a few weeks.

slide the clamp away from the clamped joint completly and use a thread release like wd40 ,or whatever they use in your part of the woods,and try and spray it into the joint to aid seperation.

Penetrating oil. Use plenty. If you have the mufflers still connected, use the leverage by moving from the end. If you have to, remove the headers from the bike, and clamp the 3rd volume in a vise, and remove the headers one at a time. Can be a PIA. Joe
