I guess the MoCo kicked around a lot of possibilities before deciding on "VRod" - the design project was called "Digger" for a while, and then Marketing Division settled on "VRod". So as a totally useless question, what would you have named the prototype? I kinda like Digger...

How about a list of names that did Not make it. These probably were considered but got the thumbs down by marketing.
The Fat-Rod - The MoCo likes the name FAT
The Wide-Rod - just another variation
The Hard-Rod - I'm sure some smart a$$ marketing guy suggested this
The Wet-Rod - It is water cooled
The Hot-Rod - Maybe just a little to generic
The Bob's-Rod - Every other line has a Bob
The Rod-Glide - It is smooth
The Streetwalker-Rod - Couldn't help myself
The GoodNight-Rod Special - Probably is!
The Ride-Rod - They are marketing to women as well (maybe they covered that with "Night Rod")
The Long-Rod - It does have a 67.2 in wheelbase
OK get your minds out of the gutter! Remember, THEY did name their models Night-Rod, Street Rod, and "A"Rod!
