What footpeg options can anyone share?
can anyone help me find nice pegs for the v-rod? The stock pegs are poor.undefined

iF i HAD IT TO DO OVER AGAIN... I'd pick matching Harley Brand Billet pegs and handlebar grips... had them on my deuce and liked the look.. but not near as comfortable as the Harley coutoured grips and "airfoil/slotted" pegs and shifter pegs I have on the v rod. Check them out in the Harley parts book... if you like them.. I'll make you a deal on grips/and four pegs and shifter peg. depends if your really going to ride the bike much... billets aren't as comfortable... but I like the look
Johnd, I've used the Kuryakyn ISO pegs and handgrips on a few of my rides to include this one and they work for me. I like the handgrip because it's beefy and I use the wider ISO "Dually" style as the footpeg because it keeps my foot more stable at higher speeds (happens a lot!). My feet roll around too much with the round style.
I recently went to the flame pegs. Lot's more vibration. Kinda miss my ugly ones.
I use the contoured HD grips and like them. Very comfortable and fit the hand.
Have the Kuryakyn Switchblades which I also like despite some minor problems (stirrips locking closed - fix with a little white grease). However, I had a "curb feeler" fall off (after using locktite on it), and Kuryakyn wanted to charge me $20.00 for two replacements (1/5th of the price of the cost of pegs for two little bolts). After much arguing they agreed to replace them for free, but did not feel good real good about it (like they were just doing it to get rid of me, not keep my business). Especially as I have promoted these pegs and defended them on this and the V-Twin forum. However, I still like the pegs, and would highly recommend them.

Gee Fred, it must have been something you said. They sent me a complete set of rubber for the switchblades after I lost the outer piece on the Daytona run. I like the switchblades.

Here's what I did with diamond plate.
The chome-slotted brake lever was the work. The brake lever pad had to be ground to fit and a hole drilled - but it came out nice at the end of the day.
The shift lever pad worked by using an acorn nut.
The rear pegs use the V.Mod ratchet passenger extensions (which worked out great for my wife).
Here's what I did with diamond plate.
The chome-slotted brake lever was the work. The brake lever pad had to be ground to fit and a hole drilled - but it came out nice at the end of the day.

The rear pegs use the V.Mod ratchet passenger extensions (which worked out great for my wife).

Daniii: The rubber falling off was a problem they corrected after the original run so they policy adjust replacement rubber without question. The 'curb feelers' are supposed to grind down and protect the pegs (lots of sport bikes now have them they say), and are replacement items.
Since one of mine fell off the first guy I talked to yesterday seemed fine with just replacing it and made no mention of a charge. I was surprised when a woman called today as the credit card they had on file for me had expired, and told me that she was going to charge me $20.00 for a set of two. Thats when I got old Jan (a man by the way), probably head of customer service. He acted like I had just worn them down and was looking for free ones.
Because I bought the Switchblades from a Harley Dealer he wanted me to go back through the dealer (and waste more of my time, and the dealers). He also mentioned that the only product I had bought directly I had returned (not relevant, but I guess it shows my character to make use of their return policy... especially when it cost me a third the cost of the part in UPS charges to do so).
As for the returned extenders, I told him what you also experienced, that you cannot seem to tighten the extenders down so they stay put, and that they move the pegs too far out. When I stressed to him that, so far, my direct dealings had cost me $20.00 with nothing to show for it, and my dealer purchase was for a product that was flawed but that I was living with, he finally caved in and asked what I wanted him to do.
I told him that I wanted one replacement "curb feeler" sent me at N/C, or I would pay a reasonable price for a set of two. I pointed out that I was really arguing about the price of the replacement part, epecially since I was led to believe that I was getting one at N/C yesterday. He said he would send a set out today No Charge.
Hey, they did what was fair in the end (perhaps more than fair as I only needed one). Thats more than many companies do. I can forgive his suspicions, but you know us 58 year olds are "aggressive riders" and wear down the "curb feelers" (damn stupid name for them by the way, but I guess you have to call them something).

boards instead of pegs
I chose Cyclevisions adapters that allow you to use footboards, then went with those nice boards that Cobra offers. Installatin went well, I really pleased with the looks and with the ride.

Fred: I didn't know the rubber problem was a known problem - at least the guy didn't offer that up. Curb feelers, huh. I did notice mine are noticably worn.....

The molding of the front & rear fenders and the airbox, as well as the paint, was done by one of our member/sponsors here: DH at American Custom Paint in Denver. Great guy. Great work.
VerlynNofzinger: Do you scrape the floorboards on cornering? Can you post a pic of you setup. I have been toying with the idea of Cyclevisions rider floorboards.

I installed the Kuryakyn "Switchblades" with the heel rest that pivots up under the pad when not in use. They're excellent for highway cruising, like having floorboards. When in Town or in the twisties on the way down Hwy. 1 to Big Sur, I fold 'em up and outta the way. I removed the "curb feelers" altogether.

I have them and really enjoy them. I took the curb feelers off of both sides...they were feeling too much curb. Have yet to scrap the pad or the heel rest portion.
