BikerTrash1130, I thought long and hard about the data on the old forum. I was actually able to migrate it but since the two forums are run from different software and even use different sql data bases I found that from time to time I got access errors. My final decision was that when I notify everyone about this board being open I will leave the old forum up as an archive for a while but I was afraid that to migrate the data could cause a problem down the road. Any post that anyone wants to transfer over feel free to copy and paste it over on this forum.

I hope that everyone will understand that for the future of long term stability of this data base that I think it best to start with a fresh slate. We have a lot of room here and many more options not to mention this is one of my machines so I have full control over the amount of content on it.

Try your image again, I just enabled it. That is why it is good to get a few testers to think of things that I don't use.

John I don't plan on closing it for a while. What I will do is after I get a few more things worked out here I will add the redirect to this forum and a link from this forum back to make sure people understand it is the old forum.

So far, so good. I like what I see so far, and it does seem faster... It will be interesting to see how it works with AOL (yea yea, I know, its a virus, but it allows me to slip under the radar at work)

Daniii for me this is a great improvement. The server is down on Irving Blvd and has a host of T1 lines to direct through. The good thing is that no other source of information is on the server. Our last server worked good at times but when I would check the drives it seemed the like the host would add a new drive almost every day telling me they were filling it up until it slowed down enough that they could sell no more service. With this server it will only fill up with our data. I built the machine this week but it was built with proven parts that I had. It uses an Asus motherboard and is running with a gig of Rambus ram, the only thing that still comes close to rambus ram speed is dual channel ddr. Both of the drives are ata 100 drives with 8mb cache and the cpu is about a year old but has been flawless since I installed it. It was in part, cpu, ram and board one of the computors that served as a server in my house for the last year and never even got so much as a reboot until I rebuilt it to handle this job.
