Thanks for the reminder. I have my bike in pieces with the alternator cover off so I can check it in a matter of seconds. Checked it once before and it was right on but no reason not to recheck it every time you have the alternator cover off.

17 ft/lbs is the torque needed plus loctite.

i've never checked mine, but at 47k miles if it hasn't come loose to this point is there really any reason to specifically do this?

edit - i just bought another 5 year warranty for the bike so I'm not too sure i'm worried about it anyway :D

Some of them left the factory not torqued to specs.
