Have absolutely lost all faith in the parts dept at HD of Vallejo CA.
If you have to buy parts there, make damn sure you have the exact part #
for your bike.
The only part they sold me that was correct so far is an oil filter.:banghead:

I will let you know if they give me the correct parts. Been over 30 days.
The problem could be Streetrod related and they have no clue this bike
is somewhat unique from the plain old vanilla V-rod ;)

So be careful if you order a rear break lamp switch (mine failed). It's NOT
72023-51D :chair:

Would any fellow member know what the correct part # is for a 06 Streetrod.
MFD 02-05 Thanks

You take a quick look at their condecending faces with the blank stare, nervous gum chewing and those little *** earrings and you realize very fast that if you expect anything of substance from those clowns you're setting yourself up for immediate dissappointment. Go Zanotti's Chet.

Thanks Bonketi, BTW we may have met at the social corner up in Berreyesa a while back. My Streetrod was the Demo at Vallejo. Maybe we can do a silverado trail ride someday ;)

Wasn't there some discussion of a NAPA ride for NorCal riders?

The part number you want is:

Brake Switch, banjo bolt - 72025-06.

The one they sold you is not for the VRSCR, Street Rod.

This forum kicks Ass!! I'll let you know when my bike's back on the road.
It'd be cool to run with a bunch of North bay V-Rods (how many are there?)

Thanks for the help with the part #.:notworth:

Chet,
I've posted on the forum before, stay clear of Vallejo HD - they suck! If you need service or parts go to Michaels HD in cotati. They love the V, the owner of the dealership has rides a VROD.

Ya, If you don't get screwed in the store, you can easily get gunned down
right outside. Funny story, after I got my bike, I needed a new helmet
so one afternoon when I was baby sitting my baby boy I said Fu** it. Threw
the kid in the car (Caddy CTSV) and drove down there. Put him in the stroller
and went in and got a nice CF full faced helmet. Wife was pissed ;) when she found out. I think I was the first dude to ever push a stroller inside HD
of Vallejo.

I was at the Vallejo store last month and asked the parts guy if they had V-Rod Parts he said I don't know but if you want I can bring all the parts to the counter and you can go through them I shook my head and said no thanks.
I don't think the dealers around here stock very many parts for the V-rod.
Oh Well!

update: Ya-hu! got'r done! Back on the road, thanks for the great feedback.
The dealer actually refunded me and ordered the correct part, six
month's after purchase. ;) So I would say it's ok to shop there just make
sure you have the exact part # ready.

Funny thing, the new correct part looked like the thread diameter was to small, so I miked it and it was about 15 thou under size. I had no choice but to try it and it works (for now). Also you can change the rear brake lamp switch without taking the exhaust off, just gota take your time and have
skilz. Brake fluid looked like dark maple syrup so I flushed the hell out of it.
