What prices are new '04 VRSCBs going for? I'm looking for ballpark figures here.

I've found one and I'm negotiating the price with the salesman. I need to know how much under his asking price I should offer (or at least get some ideas).

The out-the-door price after taxes and all the other fees is $19136.95 which sounds a little high to me. This is for a '04 black VRSCB. I'm going to pay cash so I'm not concerned about payments; I'm only interested in the total price.

What kind of "counter" offer would you make?

Thanks.

lyonsd,
Its hard to say... The V-ROD is a big seller in Austin TX... But drive 45 min. to Killeen TX and you will see the same 03 that has been sitting there for 8 months... I believe that others on this forum will agree... Location has alot to do with the deal you get.... As for paying cash... The dealership dosent care... I paid cash and they gave me the same price as if I financed it .... The price they are asking dose not sound outrages.. THE TRICK IS TO SEE WHAT EXTRAS YOU CAN GET IE. EXTENDED WARRANTY, FIRST 2 SERVICES FREE AND SO ON..... I have a 03 100th Anniversary Silver and paid 17,800.00 TTL out the door..... I hope this helps...

Don't be afraid to dicker, or bargain if its a dude. Also, hook up to The HD web site for other delrs. and travel if you must. I took a ride down the NY state thruway and saved 750.00. The local dlr. thought he I was joking when I said Match it or going there. Hope this helps & GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!:2cents groovy V

They had one VRSCB (Demo) when I was there last Friday. Do they have more now?

There is one used VRSCA in the showroom also.

The Tucson Dealer charges MSRP + $1200 set-up fee (which for a Black 'b' would come to $18,990 with security system and shipping.) TT&L of course, vary by state. License fees here are ~$300.

Nearly new '03's are selling on Ebay consistently for the mid $14K's. Watch out for scams (foreign, too good to be true, limited to approved bidders, etc), and factor in any shipping fees- but you can save quite a few grand.

including tax + licensing that sounds about right. (although most dealers make
their money nailing you w/ the extended
warranty) , the more years they get out of you, the more money in their pocket.

You can also tell when their making alot of money off you when they say they'll throw in a leather jacket & a helmet.

I was in Athens today so I stopped by the dealer that I was in contact with. I found the guy I had been communicating with and told him who I was. He said he can't accept that offer. But anyway, the bike was a VRSCA! I told him I wanted a B and he said he'd email me when he found out when they were getting one in.

I called around to price match before I bought mine. I was on vacation about 350 miles from home when I started looking. When I got a price I decided to compare that with what I could get at home. Called a few dealers and they (on the phone) beat the price (OTD) by $1500. But, somehow things were a little different when you are sitting in that ofice and the computer display doesn't match what they told you on the phone - I almost left before they finally got the price back down to what they told me. '03 - OTD - California - $17,800 - full tank of gas (got me home).

Also had to have a valid MC license and proof of insurance. From noon til 4:30 - drove it home in the dark. Fairly nerve wraking - new bike, haven't ridden in 20 years, and dark. Sure were a lot of cars behind me - probably wanting to run me off the road for going to slow.

You won't have any regrets Tompn. Enjoy the new ride.

If you got home on a full tank of gas, you couldn't live too far away from the dealer. :)
