I have a VRSCA and have just acquired a SE ECM (for SE pipes).

Where is the ECU located?

I thought it was under the rear seat, but that looks like the alarm module?
Are there steps I need to undertake after replacing the ECM with the new one, like the "password learn" procedure?

Thanks for your help

Welcome to 1130cc.com ... The ECM is located under the front left side vent cover.. Can't miss it as it has a big ass connector attached to it.. That thing under your seat is the TSM (TSSM) and is for the turn signals / bank indicator - if the bike tips over the motor shuts off..

If you are talking about the ECM calibration cartridge you cannot just swap it out. The cartridge software must be loaded to the original ECM by a dealer with their computer system.

Thanks or the welcome and the help.

o2man98 - the previous owner bought SE pipes, filter and a SE ECM. The only thing he had put on was the pipes, so I want to install the filter and ECM to see what difference it makes. Ive read it makes the bike a few more HP but mostly makes it more responsive (or alive). And thats what im after.

Ill swap them over this arvo and let youse know the outcome.
