I have the chance to pick up a set of HD saddlebags and bracket hardware for a 2009 vrod vrsc dx. I figure the bracket is wider due to the wider fender and tire. But does the bracket still bolt up the same on my 2003 vrod. If it does i was going to cut the back of the bracket and reweld it to narrow it. I just dont want to buy it and waste my time. Please help, 300 bucks obo seems like a great deal to me. I cant seem to find an answer browsing on this site. Any info would help. I know the part numbers for the 2009 and 2003 are different. Just dont know what is exactly different or if the bracket will even work on my 2003 vrod.

Nope. Brackets are different, as is the horseshoe. buy the right one - look in the classified ads here. Joe
