Gentlemen, Vrod parts are getting scarce. I still have mine and plan to keep it. My question is what is the price to buy a used Vrod and the value of the parts if you disassemble it is worth more than what you paid. I’m guessing around $4000. Thinking about buying one for specific parts and selling the rest. What do you guys think? Prices for bikes are ironically falling again after a brief resurgence. Just saw a low mileage SE 2006 sell for 7k garage kept. Wish I’d have bought it. Thanks.

There's salvage shops all around the country doing that very thing - they must buy them cheap, bc often crashed, and get $ 1500-$ 3500 for the engines, couple hundred bucks for swingarms, wheels, ECU's, fenders, air boxes, controls etc.
To me unless you need an engine I can't see the value in doing that, cost vs benefit ratio is just not there unless you can buy them really cheap. Plus you gotta deal with disassembly time, people, PayPal, etc. etc.
I would buy that 7K 2006 SE and ride it - it's just wrong to buy it and part it out - not that you would but it's too nice a bike at too good a price to smack it in the head -
Plenty of used parts are out there, buy what you need, don't create a parts special project with lots of time & hassle, for not much profit - my opinion -

I spoke to the guy with the SE and I hate I didn’t buy it. It was cherry. Someone got a great bike. I would have never parted that bike out.
