The manuel says to adjust the valves @ 10,000 miles. I have about 7500 on mine. Is this worth doing or don't fix it if it ain't broke?

I too have 7400 hundred miles and the dealer said 9 hours for the 10k service thats crazy!!! How much is to much? I'll tell you 9 hours is TOO MUCH.

Most have found that doing the valve check at 10,000 is not needed and Harley has changed the requirement. The recommendation on here is 20,000 is pretty safe.

I agree with Mike, I think your pretty safe to do it every 20k miles. I think the official stand is 12.5k on the later models and it was 10k on the early models.

The book says to do it at 10? Hmm why would you do it then? Just pick a number...

No really. Just kidding. They checked mine at 10k but they were still within spec so there was no adjustment needed. If they don't have to go in and change shims, then you are not gonna get charged the 9 hours. they were also still good at 20k. They did need adjusting at 30k and that was just before the turbo install.
