V-Rod at the drags yesterday

I run the Street Fighter class at New England Dragway. I usually run my Sportster in this class. I broke the trans Saturday during test and tune.

This bike is bone stock with the only mod being the V&H pipe in the pic. Even has a dirty paper air filter.

Rode the Rod to the track. First pass ever left soft at 4k and was shifting at 7500. Ran a 12.589 at 107.xx
Next pass I left at 5k, shifted to 2nd at 7500 and shifted out at 8k for 3rd and 4th. Ran 12.26 at 108. Q1 I cut a .003 light to take #1 Qualifier and earned the Bye into Rd1. The slips tell the rest of the story. I ended up winning the class. 8 passes ever on the bike with pass #1 ever on the bike happening yesterday at 9:37 am.

Thanks. Momma likes the calm ride the vrod has. Not gonna mess with that. I prefer racing this.

Lookin' good ! Pepperell Mass ? Holy Crap Batman I used to race dirt bikes in the mid 70's there ! As a matter of fact got the photo of my old Can-Am 125 here in my office in a turn on the lower section. Miss that old New England B/S, keep up the great work cycowrencher !

I am running the Streetfighter points series at New England Dragway. Amature class, no payout bracket racing. I might get out on a couple of friday nights, but the track prep is pretty lacking on street night and that thing leaves really hard at 7200. Most fridays it blows the tire off at the hit...

Excellent, I'm spectating at LV on Saturday, need to get my fix for NITRO HD racing and check out the other HD's racing classes, they have a couple Destroyers running there hope to meet them and rebuild my motivation!!

Nice runs and congrats on the win!

Interesting to see you shifting at 7500rpm in first and 8k rpm after that. Are the 1130 bikes significantly different than the 1250's? I ran almost identical times my first time out, but I was shifting much higher like 9-9500. Your 60ft times are significantly better than mine also.
