Happy with the performance of the Metz 240, but this bike is getting to be more of a show queen so I'd like something prettier.

On the other hand I ride hard so I don't want worse performance.

Weight seems to be the big issue here - these huge, heavy tyres give the rear spendies a hard time keeping the tyre to the tarmac.

So, choices:

Metz 260. That is clearly going to be heavier than the 240.

Avon 250. As wide as the Metz 260 apparently. Weight?

Conti Attack 240. Good compound, lots of grip, sexy tread. BUT - how wide does it look and how heavy is it?

Front and rear are both getting rather worn, so I can change both at the same time without ripping myself off. Whee!

I don't know about the weight of the Conti's but as far as width they are the same as or very close to the Metz. I put a set on last year and can't remember them being heavier. If anything I thought they were lighter from memory.

Maybe try the Pirelli Nightdragon.

Mine felt lighter than the metz and dunlop, cool looking tread pattern and deff sits wider than the dunlop not sure on the metz though.

check out THIS THREAD, lots of tire weights listed. A fun fact is that every tire out there including a 300 weighs less than the stock 240 Dunlop
