It’s time for new tires, but I’m looking to upgrade the size of my rear tire without having to do any swing arm/fender work. What is the largest sized tire that can fit on a 2004 Vrod with an R18. I’m currently running a 180/55ZR18 Dunlop Radial 207.

I should add, my rims are not stock, but if it’s an R18, does that mean any R18 should technically fit that Rim?

If it's a stock size 5.5" or an aftermarket 6" rim you can easily run a 200 width tire, any use of a 240, 260 or wider tire will require an 8.5" or larger wheel. 200 is the max width without cutting or changing belt guards, fitting wider wheels with different spacers, etc. plus the bike still steers pretty well with a 200 - any larger it really adversely affects steering at most speeds and in the twisties -

I looked at those Moodybluesr but heard a bit slippery in the rain in the reviews - any straight up tire slipping in the rain for you ?

As of yet no experience driving in the rain. Not sure I will see much gain this year as I live in the bay and last year we went about six months without a drop.
