So. Since this isn't my first rodeo (I had an R for almost four years), I've got a fair list of modifications planned for my F. I figured I'd start a thread and try to post a few pics when I do something. Hopefully it might help or give a few ideas to others along the way and I thought it might be interesting to keep a sort of journal on my progress

Upfront, I'd like to thank all those who've helped me, answered questions, or gave me my own ideas- your patience is much appreciated.

Also, any comments or suggestions are welcome as always!

Now, on to the list.....

A few pics of the bike as I bought it-- a bone-stock used 2012 F with 740 miles on it. The previous owner had it less than three months.

The only downside? The bike was just north of Portland and I live in Denver.

The solution? A *serious* Road Trip with Wife (who rides a 2010 Nighster and is disturbingly supportive of my playing with my new toy-- she's on a first name basis with the mail lady, the FedEx guy and the UPS guy).

PS: Kendon trailer's ROCK!

The day after pulling into Denver.

My wife and I towed a bobtail Kendon from Denver, CO to Pendleton, OR on Day 1, Pendleton to St. Helen, OR to pick up the bike and then up to Gig Harbor, WA (to spend the night with the 'rents) on Day 2, Gig Harbor to Twin Falls, ID on Day 3 and then Twin Falls back to Denver on Day 4.

Somehow, it worked-- I had exactly four days off and I wasn't entirely sure that I could pull this off, especially since I kind of "shot from the hip" on the road trip.

The first mod-- I replaced the stock 240 tire with a 260 Metzler the day after I got home. Since the bike was still on the trailer, I picked up my buddy's A that needed new tires and brought both bikes to the shop. You can see the difference between a 260 and a 200 (the A is +1 from a 180).

Honestly, you can't really tell much difference visually from a 240 to a 260, but I really like the Metzlers and they were on sale.

At least that's the excuse I used with Wife.

I have NO spare time-- hence the parts sitting in the garage instead of on the bike. :D

And I have a list. With EVERYTHING on it (even valve caps). If I don't, I'll lose the damn parts in the garage. I already lost and found a few already.

Wife has been laughing at me.

Do the radiator Grills yourself..not worth the $150....True, but I got a deal on them and I like the clean and unobtrusive look

Braided coolant line.....good luck.....get some armoured gloves !!! Prick of a job. So I've heard. I think they've upgraded the kit-- it looks like it comes with SS hoses now. It's on order, so I'll see when it gets there. I'm also going to powdercoat the chrome pieces

Not sure Superchicken is still in operation ???? I kind of sort of might have stumbled on the last set of pivot bolt covers in existance. They should be showing up any day now.

Amsoil ..good stuff....i have oil, air/oil filter and fork oil.... I ran Amsoil in my R, run it in my buddy's A, Wife's Nightster and will swap the F over when I do the first oil change in a few miles

True Track ???? Not worth it is it ??? Maybe. Maybe not. I already had the part for my R. Since I sold the bike, I figured it couldn't hurt to install it on the F. Keeping the motor mounts happy is a good thing.

Love my Shorai !!!!!!!! You wont need tender......That's the plan-- and I like the lighter weight and extra space under the hood.

HD under seat case......go buy a lunch bag ....If I'm going to blow Big Bucks on a Bitchin' Seat, I can blow $10 on a document holder for under the seat. :D

I'm kind of on a timeline, and since I already have experience with the V-Rod family I pretty much knew what I wanted the bike to be.

Everything's pretty much ordered or sitting in my garage, except for the seat, the Traxxon fork kit, Bitubo's, Tab pipes and TTS. Those will happen this winter. IF the AF ever pays me. Stupid Continuing Resolution. Working for free? NOT fun.

Upgraded it?? If I had my way again I wouldn't do it......

Got a pic of Tiger belt cover ?
Mine needs to go to powdercoat, so here's a pic from their site.

The license plate attached to the swingarm is NOT part of the belt guard-- it just looks like it is in the pic.
