Is it only good with stainless bolts and aluminium blocks together or is there more good purposes?

When the stainless/aluminum Tef Gel combination works well, then yes, other metal combinations should work at least as well. A small box lasts a long time, it is sparingly used, it is not necessary to apply a new layer of Gel when dismantling. The consistency is soft-tough.
