Does anyone know what the 05-06 inner width measurement from rear fork to rear fork is? I currently don't have access to my bike and trying to find out what the distance is. Thanks.

Should be the same as my '04. Looks like 12".

I think the pre-'06 axles necked down to 3/4 inch at the right end where the nut attaches, and thus the opening for the axle is narrower than it is with straight cut axles.
Anyone with an earlier bike please correct me on this if I am wrong.

Close. '02 - '04 use the tapered rear axle, '05 - '07 use the 1" axle, '08 and up use the 25 MM axle.
