I just had my dealer call and ask me if I still have my stock TB and if I would sell it or lend it to them to fix another bike...how much is a new one?

I gave it to them to fix the bike and they are ordering me a new one...I'm doing my part to keep a fellow V rider on the street! Mine has been sitting on the shelf for a year so it's no biggie for me to wait for them to get the new one in.

Nice - though SAD that a DEALER has to call an OWNER to FIND PARTS.

Thanks for stepping up and getting a fellow V-Rodder back on the road.

Stock TB's must be on back order.

You should ask them if it broke the blade sift at the screw.

Wonder how many of these are STILL BREAKING on stock bikes, and WHY HD hasn't rectified the issue yet...

If I have a problem with the 58s, I'll just get them upgraded. I've put 10,000 on my 58s and not a problem whatsoever. Bash the s--t out of them too.
The 58's are no better - unless you had SCOTT DO THEM and put the thicker shaft in.

Most "58 upgrades" and the OEM Destroyer TB still use the SAME SHAFT and un-welded screw setup.

To my knowledge - Scott is the ONLY ONE who's doing a thicker shaft and takes the time to "tack" the screw in, so that in the event of the shaft breaking - it doesn't fall out and get SUCKED INTO THE MOTOR.

YUP! Better be safe than sorry! Member ncvrodracer just had his TBs upgraded and if I'm not wrong Grandpawgriz had a TB shaft failure recently also... Here are mine, it's cheap insurance indeed and Scott does a beautiful (and fast) job, bolts are even welded to avoid being ingested in case of any failure

I like that beefy shaft that is used. I'm not in no hurry to get rid of them. I actually have a bunch of dealer takeoff items full stock exhaust system with the heat shields. I sold the shields once but they were damaged and returned to me. They were insured so I got a brand new set never been on a bike. I also have a se airfilter. A bunch of different velocity stacks. A set of stock dx mirrors. A set of dx footpegs. A set of stock cams. Stock 53 TB. Just to name a few pieces.

Pay it Forward Plan.....Strikes again

Well Done!!!!

my only question is.. did the dealer charge the customer for "new" parts when infact they put a used TB on a bike?

But good job helping a fellow rider out

I'm sure they warrantied it...so it all worked out I gave them my used one with 1k on it and I got a brand new unused in the box one a week later.
