Glad I could inspire a sell LOL. I thought about doing a helicoil in just the arm without welding on the added material but I changed my mind. I want to see how it works out for you.

Sorry I've been outta town. I'll be taking my bike to Thunder Beach this weekend so that will be the true test but so far I havent detected any flex at all. I really don't stomp on my rear brake though. I don't foresee any problems with strength though. The peg is completely threaded in the 1/2" thick aluminum. Post up in my thread on how you decide to do it.
