Is part # 71474-01 Solenoid Starting Switch an obsolete part?
If obsolete, what's the updated part# ?
Thanks in advance.

PS; I was out riding today and glided to a stop …."click~click~click" . No restart.
*This is the only part I've had to replace several times in each of my VRods.

No, P/N 71474-01 isn't an obsolete part but it's only used on 2002 and 2003 VRSC bikes. 2004 to 2006 VRSC models use P/N 71474-04, and 2007 and newer models use P/N is 71474-07.

Thanks again Steve,
For those wanting explanation of failure & how it happened:
The symptom prior to solenoid/switch failure was "RED battery warning light" flickering for a few weeks. I knew battery wasn't going bad. The VRod started without problems for weeks till it glided to a stop & wouldn't restart. Final failure of switch /Starter button would rapid "click~click~click" and speedo flickers/fades in & out. Battery still held charge.

The local harley shop here said that it is an obsolete part# with no replacement. I'm trying to track one down for my '02 v-rod
