I accidentally took my r frt signal lamp apart, then put it back together 9with the help of a Stealer tech) when I put the wires back into the mating clamp and inserted back into the female portion of wiring harness the lights works fine, except the r frt blinker won't work, the rear does. Now while playing with the wires to figure why it wouldn't work, I removed the black wire and the blinker started working, only it is dim, when I re-insert the black wire back into the clamp it stops.

Can anyone offer some advise?

Thanks

The black wire is ground. The reason it is dim is because it is grounding through the park or run light wire. Is there any chance you have the wrong bulb or the bulb in backwards. I think it is supposed to be an 1157 bulb. You should be able to pull the bulb out and use a dvm or test light to make sure you have the wires correct.

I checked the bulb it is the correct way and it is the correct bulb, I noticed that the bulb is a dual element bulb, and when the bulb is on both the elements are on and stay on, but all the other bulbs don't do this, what could cause this?

If both elements are on and it is the correct bulb in the right way then either the socket is bad or you have one of the wires crossed someplace. The black ground should go to the outside of the bulb. The turn signal should be the brighter element and the dimmer element should be the park or run element.

I didn't remove the wires from the lamp, only unplugged the 3 wires from male connector, I have checked to confirm that the color match the same plug pattern as on the female and main harness, its strange because if I remove the black wire the low (dimmer) element stays lit and then will actaully blink, but if I re-insert the black wire then both elements come on and the blinker will not work.

There is a short there somewhere. Check the order of the wires in the harness. I'll bet they are mixed up. From 1-6 the wires should be: Black, Brown, Blue, Blue, Violet, Black. I'll bet your blue and violet are backwards.

No, I double checked that, I have the wires matched exactly as they are to the other side, it's driving me crazy.

What happened to the right front signal itself? Did it come apart? It sounds like a short somewhere. If it isn't in the connector it has to be in the signal housing itself. The brown and the blue wires are touching. Then the ground is bypassing the bulb and shorting directly. The reason it's lighting up without the ground wire, is because its grounding throught the lamp housing, into the fork, and then the frame.

The r frt lamp did get pulled apart from the frt, but no wires were removed, I'll have to take it apart and see, also I do have the black main wire (which houses the 3 color coded wires) zip tied to the lower fork trees, I'll cut it loose and see if that changes anything, at least we will be able to norrow it down.
