I am thinking about going with a lighted sidemount plate. I know some of you have done this already, so I am looking for suggestions on "how-to" hide the wires running back into the bike. Thanks for the help...John

My Plate mount is mounted on the bottom shock bolt. I took the wire to the inside of the swingarm and used self adhesive (very small) clips to hold it to the swingarm till i got to the center of the swingarm (middle of the tire but on swingarm). There is that piece of plastic that (inner fender?) that goes between the gas tank and the tire, I ran the wire behind that and up to the chase where the other wires come up thru (under the seat) and ran it wiht those to the rear of the bike where the original plate light was and tied into that.

I've also seen guys go to the extent of running the wires up inside the beltguard. This of course means you have to remove the guard first and then use some sort of adhesive to stick the wiring in the 90 degree corner. Although it's more time consuming it's a super clean look.

I ran mine along the belt guard then up under the fender as discussed above. Use small clips to hold the wire. Looks clean. I've had it on for about 3 months now with no problems.

Got to say thanks for this post! I re-wired my side mount plate today. Thru the swing arm and it looks much better.
Would have never thought to do it that way with out this post.
Thanks John...............Job well done!!

Thanks for the feedback on the "how-to post". Chris sent me to a store he found on the Internet, it turned out to be about 5 miles from my house. They have lots of wire hiding products (loom, shrink tube, etc.). I bought a few samples from them, maybe we'll start a new thread on covering exposed wires.

Hey John - how's that stuff look on the bike, or have you done it yet? Mine arrives Tuesday.
