Hello everyone! I just installed the above handlebars from Ricks, I first have to say the guys ar Rick's are first class to work with, The bars arrived 4 days after they shipped them to (from Germany!!)

Anyway, take a look and see what you think, they are about 4" wider than stock, 2" lower, and about an 1" further back. I am incredibly happy with these, as the wider bars seem to give a lot more control of the bike in tight turns, and the riding position is as comfortable as can be.

If there is a downfall, they do supposedly work with the factory cables, but the brake cable especially is tight in the trees, to tight for my comfort, I am having custom stainless cables made at the local stealership, since Harley doesn't think the vrod deserves 2"over cables quit yet. (they do make the throttle and Idle in 2 over, just not the brake and clutch cables...Go Figure!)
Anyway the cables should be ready soon and I will finish up this mod. than onto the next.

Yes I have new mirrors, levers and Kellermans Bar ends coming..... Just waiting for them to arrive.

There is more pictures in my gallery to compare stock against these...

Any before and after comparison shots taken of the same views?
That would have made to much sense, these are the closest ones of the before, I do not know how to get the ones from the first post down to this one? Do I have to delete the top ones first??

You can't duplicate images on the forum.
It is easy though to print and compare.
Comfort is where it's at.
Did the stock cables/hoses work or did you have to get others?
I would say it is a "have to" get others, on this, they technically work but are tight, I have released as much slack as I could and the brake and clutch lines are just too tight in my opinion, I am having custom one's made, planned on putting stainless cables on anyway, so it was no big deal in my opinion. Just planned on doing it a little later on, but now it is a must before my July 4th trip. I would hate to rub a hole in either of these cables, not going to chance it.

The comfort of the bars are unbeleivable. I can't say enough things about them.

Any reason why you didn't simply find a bar with these specs in here: http://www.sideroadcycles.com/ImportedMotorcycles/ImportHandlebars/ImportHandlebars.html

I'm betting they would be a lot cheaper than Rick's!
I did in great detail, just nothing matched up measurement wise to Ricks, as for the price, Rick's Bars are only around 175 US plus shipping (which was kind of a killer a little over 100 bucks). But I know he offers quality products and knows the lines of the vrod well. End result, still an inexpensive mod and received a very high quality product, I have seen flanders stuff and the quality doesn't seem to compare to these.

Then that's not too bad. Every time I think of Rick's I think of 2 to 4 times the reasonable price for a part, $175 is double what a standard 1" handlebar should cost but if it's exactly what you wanted then it's worth every penny.
