Hi,

Would like to know if anyone on here can tell me what p/n is for the locks on the vinyl covered saddlebags on an 04 VRSCA? Someone tried to break into mine and they detached the center of the lock and any instructions for removal and replacement would be greatly appreciated also!

That's going to be a challenge.

The instructions for the hard bags might might might have the part number, but to find the instructions, you'll probably have to find the part number of the bags themselves. Maybe you can find an older P&A catalog?

Alternatively, I did a quick search on the internetz and found two styles of locks for H-D bags (single flange and double flange)-- maybe the locks would fit your bags since H-D likes to reuse parts for different models? Or, they might be modified to fit?

No affil with the links-- posted simply because they're the best pictures I found of the two styles....

Have you tried your Harley dealer? They should have catalogs going back to day one. If not, I have a P&A catalog from 2008 that lists several styles of bags. Post a picture and maybe I can match them up fro you.

found the p/n

I found the part number for the saddlebag locks but Every HD shop I have tried says they don't carry the "obsolete" parts for a 2004 v-rod! part number is 91482-01...anyone got any ideas? wish I could find the guy that tried to break into my bags! grrrr

These popped up on Amazon under that part number-- you could maybe cross-check with other H-D bikes? I find it hard to believe that H-D didn't use the same latch on SOME other bike. And if they did, there may well be an aftermarket replacement since other bikes have a lot more support for them than the VRSC platform.

Just a thought.

Ran into the same problem when one of mine just fell apart. None available from Harley in the whole country. Finally found one from an individual on here. Removal and installation is really simple and straightforward if you can find one. None of those on the Amazon page look like the right one.
