I know I might get a lot of flak on this, but please ignore my naivety and help me understand if this is possible.

I want to change around the locations of the switch on the handle for convenience though each switch might have a specific purpose and I am totally wrong in my thinking and may be even dumb to think to do so.

Here is what I want:

Is it possible to move the right indicator switch to engine cut off switch, move the cutoff switch to engine start switch and move the engine start switch to right indicator switch by using same switches but rewiring them internally. Not planning to get anything custom but just moving internal connections.

Similarly on left hand side, would like to move horn switch to left indicator and vice-versa.

The only reason i want to do this to have horn switch at a position which can be reached quickly instead of struggling and keeping the indicators on outer switches for symmetry. Another reason is because i have been riding motorcycles all my life with same configuration so my years of using it experience kicks in quicker. I searched the forums but on the first few pages of search didn't find anything.

Is it even possible or am I just having a brain fart here?

So you are looking for symmetry.. of course it could be done. Start switching connections 🤷‍♂️ why not give it a try. How good are you with soldering wires? Just make sure don't put the turn signal in the kill switch 😂

They do reach , but akin to old habits coming from other motorcycles I rode was guessing to get the switches back to my comfort zone .
Habits.. my first harley was a custom 1950 panhead, didn't even have switches, left grip engine timing, right grip throttle that was it. That was before moving to an evo with the same type of hand controls we see today. Best thing ever is to have one turn switch per thumb imo. It just takes getting used to it 😎 but hey whatever rocks your boat 👍

Left side is simple, just switch 2 wires in the harness plug as both of those items are fed from the same power source.
Right side you can't do what you are suggesting as the run switch is not a momentary push type like the indicator and starter. Whether it is possible to physically swap the actual starter and run switches over in the housing I am not sure, I suspect probably not. You could swap the starter with the indicator but to do this be aware that the power source for these two are different so you would to change these feeds over also, not just the ouput wires like the left side.

I don’t want to take any chance of making changes unless I know a) whether it’s been done b) will it mess up any functioning of the bike .

Those large turn signals switches may have a specific function of self cancelling or may be more and I don’t wanna lose that if I relocate them .

All the self cancelling is done by the TSM / TSSM
The switches are simple contact switches with a feed in side and a feed out side.

Thank you so much for explaining . Looks like right side is not straightforward . I will try to get use to getting to horn switch in case of emergency by practising it while riding alone or in parking lots . We have tendency to keep thumbs in indicator switch so that’s the first reaction in emergency . For turn switches we are prepared to turn hence know when to push the switch which can be done wherever it is located .

I know left is easy and solves my problem but then makes bike out of symmetry as turn switches are on two different locations on the handle bar and not aligned.
