Just got a 2003 Anniversary! My first HD.

I would like to try a different setting for the rear suspension. Now is in 2 but feels a little stiff if I hit any bump on the road.

Do I need to lift the bike (rear tire) to change the setting easier or with the kickstand is fine?

Thanks!

If you are adjusting stock type shocks with a shock tool or spanner I believe:
- Its okay to do on the stand.
- You want to avoid going all the way up or all the way down all in one move.
- Like don't go to 1 to 5, or 5 to 1. Go from like 1 to 3 ride a little, then go 3 to 5
- You turn the lower section of the shock to a higher or lower notch.
- #5 is the firmest setting and 1 is the softest
- Wear gloves!

Thanks Steve. Great tip!

I went from #2 to 1, then to 3 and then to 4, to finally get back on #3 (I'm 165 lb)
